Connecting people and places
Connected Routes is a joint project between the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University in collaboration with various partners, agencies, stakeholders and commercial organisations.
The Connected Routes initiative aims to encourage students to travel along specific roads and footpaths between the two University campuses and in Canterbury city centre. Refuge points along the routes enable students to request help and advice if they are feeling unsafe or in danger.
The Connected Route has also been added to the SafeZone geofenced areas of both Universities. Students can therefore activate the emergency button to alert the respective University security team of an issue if they are feeling unsafe or in danger or if there is an emergency incident. The video below explains how to opt in and start using it.
